Wholesale distributor reduces disruptions in fulfillment operations to drive operational scale and improve vendor compliance with new WMS
MINNEAPOLIS – May 11, 2017 – HighJump, a global provider of supply chain network solutions, announced today that Deepwater Global Distribution (DGD) selected HighJump warehouse management system (WMS) to gain end-to-end supply chain transparency and satisfy increasingly complex vendor compliance requirements. Headquartered in Orlando, Fla., DGD is a full service distribution company offering some of the most premium aquatics, lawn and garden, and outdoor brands on the market to local stores, distributors, and online retailers.
Hamstrung by its existing WMS, DGD engaged in a WMS selection process and selected HighJump WMS to better optimize outbound order processes and improve inventory management. Critical functionality requirements included the ability to pick large orders with multiple pickers simultaneously. Prior to HighJump, inventory accuracy was degraded, resulting from space constraints and an inability to track more than four pallets per SKU in the warehouse. Thus more robust bin tracking and stock rotation was required. The basic capabilities of the existing WMS, suitable for small companies, were no longer a good fit to fulfill hundreds of small parcel packages a day leaving DGD’s 55,000 square-foot distribution center.
“We needed a WMS built to scale with the expansion of multiple facilities,” said Richard Gilliland, CEO at DGD. “With the dynamic capabilities of HighJump WMS, we now have the confidence to grow our business sustainably. Additionally, a top priority for us is eliminating chargebacks and costly non-compliance issues to protect our bottom line and remain competitive in the various markets we serve.”
With HighJump WMS, DGD will have visibility into performance metrics and a foundation for continuous process improvement. The distributor is looking forward to leveraging and capitalizing on robust functionality, including flexible outbound order process definition, a growing compliance label library, routing guide compliance, and integrated detailed carton level data collection to comply with 856 Advanced Ship Notice (ASN) customer requirements.
“To provide a unified consumer experience across all its various sales channels, DGD needed innovative technologies with flexible workflows built for the demands of tomorrow,” said Carl Marin, general manager at HighJump. “By choosing HighJump, DGD will become a preferred vendor of choice and will have the right processes in place to expand its multichannel distribution footprint.”
DGD is confident in HighJump’s ability to deliver a WMS seamlessly integrated to its new ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, against a target go live timeframe of 90 days.
